How did we meet?

We went to the same primary school (SRKSJ) and high school (SMSJ).

When did we meet?

1995. Although we were of the same age and school, we didn't meet until standard 4. This is because previously, the system in the school was that the morning and afternoon sessions had all grades (standard 1 - 6). They divided the pupils according to the name of their classes. Back then classes were not based on merit. They started doing that in 1995 I think. The morning session is for classes like ros, siantan, and some other flower name i cant remember. The afternoon session is for the rest. So, even if we were in the same grade, we may not be in the same session.

They changed that system in 1995. Morning session was for grades 2, 5 and 6. The afternoon session was for grades 1,3 and 4. They also introduced the merit system whereby pupils were placed in classes according to merit. So if you have enough A's you'll be in the top classes lah. Agama classes were combined based on the order of the classes.  So 4 Cempaka and 4 Dahlia were combined for Agama.

I was in 4 Cempaka and he was in 4 Dahlia.

Due to this change of system, me and Aliff finally met in 1995 in kelas Agama. :)

How did we get together?

1997 - We were in the same class in standard 6 (the notorious 6 Cempaka). Cikgu Jefri sat me next to him. He was funny and boleh tahan lah cute ;). I had a crush. Cut the story short (there are some details that I am leaving out because it involved certain "person" that I do not wish to be part of my story). My friends (playing cupid) told him I LIKED him (oh my god maluuuunyeerrr) and somehow, and I don't know how this happened, i think it was exchange of notes or something (hahahah L.A.M.E), we became "boyfriend and girlfriend". Hahahah. But, it was just like "I like you" "You like me" kind of "boyfriend and girlfriend". Maluuuuuu. We acted as friends. Nothing special. But every now and then he'll send me a "love letter". ahahahah. Not like nowadays lah kan. I forgot how long that lasted.

1998 - Beginning of high school. We somehow fell out of touch. We went to the same highschool, and were in the same class, once in form 2, but, we just drifted away from each other. We did our own things, had our own agendas. We didn't cross paths a lot. It finally came to a point that we didn't even talk to each other, or said the casual "hi" if we bumped into each other. We became strangers, but there was never any animosity.

2002 - Senior year. One of my best friend was dating a close friend of his. Towards the end of the year, nearing SPM, we frequent the library a lot. So my friend was there with her boyfriend. And sometimes Aliff would be there too. Somehow, sparks started flying around. I find myself attracted to him (again) although at that time I was going out (non-exclusive) with 2 (or so) other guys. So, these two friends of ours played cupid (again, albeit different friends this time) and one day I got a call from Aliff asking me to prom :) . I said yes (after 2 days of "thinking about it" saje nak jual mahal) and said no to 3 others (cheh nak cakap jugak - just to establish that I wasn't desperately waiting for him lah kan. Hahah). Few weeks before prom he asked me out for a movie; some horror korean movie, i remember it was "Darkwater". Those were the days he didn't mind watching horror movies, macho lah konon. We hanged out with each other a lot after that. The rest is history.
