17.6.2011 - The Nikah (Part II)

...(continued from this entry) ...

SAH!...OMG...again, I can't seem to stop smiling! I thought that I would atleast shed a tear, because I always cry at weddings, and I cried like a crazy person when Kakmira got married...but I guess I was too happy...

I looked left and saw that Syida was crying like crazy! ..hahhahaha...ok, so maybe that is how it is...the sister will cry...hahhaha...looked at my mum, and she was also crying...she never cries! Aliff's mum, tak payah cakap, was also crying like crazy...while the qadi was reciting the doa, I suddenly felt a tinge of emotion but I remembered thinking I had to overcome it or I'll break into an ugly cry...you don't want an ugly bride do you?

me clenching on Nell's hands and Syida massaging my feet while crying hahah :)

see...i cant help smiling :) and syida was still crying hahahah

Then Aliff read the taklik and we signed the marriage form ... and after, Aliff went up to pray and I moved to the pelamin. My legs were sooooo numb Syida had to massage it for a couple of minutes before I can stand. Aliff came down and sat next to me at the pelamin...at first it felt weird, to some extent macam malu sikit hahahahhahahahahah poyo kan? Anyway, that only lasted for a few seconds, and then I realised he was the same person I've been with for the past 9 years...So, after the brief moment of...what do I call it? hmmm...awkwardness? (for me atleast), I was back in the real world and everything became so comfortable and right...just as it has always been...We then did the exchange of rings.

We then proceeded to eat. And yes, I ATE! After 3 months of dieting and the last few weeks of not eating, I ATE MY HEART OUT.  The food was delicious... I was really enjoing my time...it was perfect, nasi arab, lamb served with black pepper sauce with moroccan-arabic music playing at the background...but surprisingly, contrary to me, Aliff didn't have the same apetite I was having...hahah. According to him, he was still feeling the huge relief of getting through the akad without any glitches...He enjoyed the fruit punch tho. Kept asking for refill :)

We then went around meeting the guests and relatives. I realised Kakmyra was no where to be seen. They tried to conceal it from me, but, as always, I managed to crack their hush-hush (because they don't do it very discreetly :)). Kakmira had to be at the hospital because baby Ahmadi was admitted...the best timing kan? He had the fever, and because he was still too small (1 month), he had to be admitted (at date, Ahmadi is fine and healthy and growing so big so fast!). Adri was there for the nikah, as he was one of my saksi, but later he joined Kakmira at the hospital. Lulu stayed on with Bibik...Kakmira might also not make it for the reception the next night because Ahmadi had to be quarantined from everyone else. Oh well, dugaan nak kahwin. You have to be prepared for anything, including not having an important family member at your wedding. I was just thankful that it was nothing really serious! So, after we went around meeting the guests, we were asked to sit on the pelamin for the merenjis. OMG lamaaaaaaa siot! Big big family...Hahhahahahah....after that, group pictures.

Family picture ... incomplete tho, w/o Kakmira and family...
The SMSJ-ians

The UIA-ians

The Cousins

It was almost 11pm...I was reaaaaaallyyy tired by then...so, we  proceeded to the bedroom.....................for pictures (haha ;)) while the rest of the guests karaoke-d downstairs.

By 12am, Aliff left ..booo...he was meeting some friends for post-wedding-drinks...he didn't have time to have a bachelors party before the wedding, so I gave him the night off hahahaha...Aliff didn't come back and stay over, malay tradition that husband and wife don't sleep together before the wedding reception...takut hilang seri? ikut aja lah kannnnn....

So, after everyone left, I washed my hair, and slept smiling....I AM MARRIED!

NEXT: THE BRIDE'S WEDDING RECEPTION

Toodles.
